Southwest Airlines Flight 1455 from Vegas overshot the runway at Burbank. The plane crashed through the airport fence, careened across the street and ended up with collapsed landing gear, right next to a gas station.

The facts are unverified and undocumented, but that's not the point. I think I was complaining about gas prices back then too. Who'd' a thunk?
